Boston Breach will be hosting a Modern Warfare 2 Kickoff LAN event.
It will be held in the same venue as the Major 4 Challengers tournament from the 2022 Call of Duty League season.
Breach’s event will take place on November 19, with 32 teams competing for the $7,000 prize.
The prize will be split between the top five teams at the event. The split is:
1st – $4,000
2nd – $1,500
3rd – $750
4th – $500
5th – $250
It’s not confirmed how the fifth-placed team will be decided or if the team that also finish T6 will also receive $250.
The Foxborough-based Helix Esports facility has already established its capacity to host events.
The venue hosted the Major 4 Challengers event during the 2022 CDL season.
Many players and spectators complimented the venue on its atmosphere and feel during the event that was eventually won by the Toronto Ultra Academy NA.
The tournament will be played in a double-elimination bracket.
All series will be Best of 3 in the upper and lower bracket up until the Grand Finals.
The final series of the tournament will then be Best of 5.
Players will be required to bring their own controller to the event but will have headsets provided should they not bring their own.
All players will also be required to own Modern Warfare 2 on their own BattleNet account.
Where to register
Team passes for the event are priced at $275. You can buy one and register a team here.
Spectator passes are also available to buy through the same link. They are priced at $10 each.
Where to watch
Streaming information for the event is not yet available.
It would be sensible to assume that at least some of the tournament will be broadcast for fans to watch.
