This weekend will see the first Warzone event of the Call of Duty League season.
20 teams will drop into Rebirth Island to try and prove that they are the best that Warzone’s smaller map has to offer.
Six CDL teams were randomly assigned to each of the two semi-finals.
The main stage of the tournament will be split in two. Two groups of 10 will play in semi-finals.
They will each play a series of four maps with the top five teams making it through to the final.
The final will have the same format but with six maps and $100,000 on the line.
So, who will be competing on Rebirth Island?
SEMI-FINAL A
CDL Teams
Los Angeles Thieves
Tommey
Rated
Almond
Newbz
TBE and Rated, pretty much. This is one of the most fearsome teams in the tournament.
Tommey and co. have been absolutely rampant since the start of Warzone.
A highlight for them was winning their own BoomTV tournament worth the best part of $25,000.
New York Subliners
zSmit
Aydan
DillLive
Knight
Aydan is one of the premiere Warzone players in the world. He’s been in the discussion of the best to do it on Verdansk and Caldera ever since he started playing.
Can he do it on Rebirth Island?
OpTic Texas
SebasBeron
Holly
ZLaner
Karma
Damon “Karma” Barlow is returning to compete under the OpTic branding once again.
He’ll line up against some of the best players/content creators that the organisation has to offer.
ZLaner is one of the best-known Warzone players for a reason. This semi-final is stacked though and they’ll have some job to be able to make it through.
Los Angeles Guerrillas
Apathy
HusKerrs
UnRationaL
ScummN
Another team filled to the brim with Warzone talent. The names HusKerrs, UnRationaL and ScummN have been synonymous with success in the Warzone community in the last two years.
Matching them up with Apathy, the team smacks of one with unlimited power.
Florida Mutineers
Willett
Davpadie
Vivid
Owakening
Fresh on the back of a fantastic performance in the Minnesota Major, some of Florida’s biggest stars are in action on Rebirth Island.
Davpadie will be joined by his fellow pro-teammates Vivid and Skyz.
They’ll be joined by their coach, Willett, for the event.
Paris Legion
skullface
WarsZ
Ottereyes
Validhands
Paris Legion may be the perennial wooden spoon holders in the CDL but this team is nothing to shy away from.
WarsZ is one of the top EU Warzone players and has done a fantastic job at establishing himself at the top.
His team will be ready to support him in their quest for success.
Open Qualifier Teams
Grev&Co
Grev
Luxecution
PRAY3RS
TorronixTV
The first of our qualified teams. Grev and co. did an incredible job to make it this far in the tournament.
They’ll be looking to try and upset some of the pro teams and get their way through to the final.
They finished second in the qualifier stage of the tournament so they’ll have the wind behind them heading into the main event.
Dad Bods
Ebatez
Ryda
Djmas23
Finessen
Another team that finished second in the group stage. They did so incredibly comfortably though.
Dad Bods were over 30 points ahead of the team below them and they’ll come into the final confident.
They slipped to third in the second round of the qualifiers but it was more than enough to secure their passage into the main event.
Team Diverge
AlogaMy
Deniro
IntenseV0
Tblickey
The only team to score more than Dad Bods in Group C, Team Diverge have pretty much everything.
They’ll come into the tournament knowing that they can definitely beat at least one of their rivals, so who knows what they can do?
JackalGetsCarried
Jackal
Jonnybro23
Drifts
Slimey
JackalGetsCarried squeaked their way into the main event of CDLR with a narrow six-point margin.
Their total of 79.0 points in the final qualifier wouldn’t have been enough to get through in the opposite group but they managed to see their way into the main event.
They’ll have to surprise a few if they are to get themselves into the top 10.
SEMI FINAL B
CDL Teams
London Royal Ravens
Jukeyz
Gismo
Afro
Nastie
London are the first team taking part in the second semi-final. They’ve gone with three of their starting CDL roster.
Gismo and Nastie are right up there as two of the best rookies this season, alongside Afro, who was in the same boat last season.
They’ll be joined by one of the best Warzone players on the planet. One of the most fierce and feared players to hit Caldera, Verdansk and now Rebirth Island, Jukeyz.
Atlanta FaZe
SuperEv
FaZe Booya
Swagg
Biffle
FaZe have been one of the best and most feared teams in the CDL since its inception in 2019.
None of their competitive players will be playing in this tournament but they will be still with a chance of coming away with the title.
Swagg, Booya, SuperEv and Biffle are all incredible players and could probably do damage in the league if they put their minds to it.
Toronto Ultra
Overgirl
Royalize
Chrxnicle
Heisman
Toronto will be running with some of their best Warzone players out of their plethora of talent in this tournament.
Overgirl is one of, if not, THE best female Warzone player out there in 2022. Royalize is also right up there in the top tier of competitors.
They’ll be joined by Heisman and Chrxnicle to complete an incredible outfit.
Minnesota Rokkr
Loony
Standy
Priestahh
Blazt
Another team with a mix of CDL and Warzone talent. Loony is back in competitive action for the first time since being dropped by Seattle midway through Cold War.
He’ll be joined by current Rokkr stars Standy and Priestahh. They’ll also have Blazt in their roster for this one.
A dark horse, for sure.
Seattle Surge
kenzrosey
Braalik
exzachtt
ForeignJase
Seattle aren’t letting any of their CDL talent loose on CDL Resurgence but their team shouldn’t be anything to squirm at.
kenz is a top-tier player who can clutch up any situation completely alone. This is a team that could go all the way.
Boston Breach
Zed
Capsidal
Methodz
Censor
Douglas Martin is here. He signed for Boston during Major 2 and now he’s here to kick ass and take names. Well, attempt to anyway.
He’ll be joined by Coach Zed and two of the best players in this season’s CDL, Methodz and Cap.
But that doesn’t matter. Censor doesn’t need help.
Open Qualifier Teams
TiberiousKhan
XenoN
EyeQew
picNICK
Nickool
This team racked up an astronomical 120.0 points in the final round of qualifiers to secure their place in the main event.
No other team came anywhere near challenging them for the place atop the leaderboard.
17.5 points above any other team, this could be the squad that shocks people.
HaHa
Knofoe
Sinycity
cEighth
OhItsArbiter
Nice and comfortable in their qualification, HaHa never really looked in doubt for getting through to the main event.
That being said, they didn’t really come anywhere near Grev&Co in their group. They’ll have to step it up to get through to the Grand Final.
Underrated
Rumblex1
LvkaTTV
Jony2kk
Devo
Third in their final qualifier, this squad will have to prove that they truly are “underrated” if they are to get through to the Grand Final.
They’ll have to overcome some stiff competition if they are to do it.
Goats
FaZe Bloo
Luvey
zepti
Lonnerdd
FaZe’s secret fifth man, Bloo, has his team in the semi-finals thanks to a pretty nice carry that he received. He only managed to score more than two kills once in the final qualifier.
That being said, Bloo does still have the ability to completely explode for huge numbers.
Definitely one to look out for against the best of the best.
