CDCUpdate has announced a new ownership structure, including backing from the ACCL.
The partnership will come together in order to provide a professional-level of coverage for Call of Duty Challengers, in all four regions: NA, EU, APAC and LATAM.
The new deal will involve the return of CDCUpdate, which has been largely dormant since January. They will act as a hub for all things Challengers.
The three brains behind the project going forward will be: Alisha Wicks, founder of CDCUpdate, Atle Stehouwer, founder of Team Singularity and Joe Preston, owner of the ACCL.
This new partnership will give extensive coverage to all Challengers events, including every Cup and Elite Season.
The relaunch of CDCUpdate comes perfectly-timed. Four Challengers teams will be in action this weekend at the first-ever CDL Pro-Am.
At the same time, the ACCL are hosting the first EU Call of Duty LAN event since before Covid.
That event will see 32 teams compete for a huge prize pool, with several of the top amateur players in Europe attending.
The ACCL will be responsible for all of the coverage of EU Challengers. They will bring live coverage of EU Cup and Elite events, as well as their own.
As part of this deal, the ACCL will outsource their written EU content (articles, interviews, reports, etc) to The Rotation.
We will continue to reinforce out commitment to showing that the people who play are the true stars of the game.
Everybody in Challengers has their own story, which we will endeavour to tell.
View from the ACCL
ACCL founder Joe Preston is very excited by the new partnership and can’t wait to see it develop.
He will also taking the role of Co-Owner of CDC Update.
Preston said: “We’ve always punched above our weight but now we understand that we’re just scratching the surface.
“This is an opportunity to work with people that would have been beyond my imagination 12 months ago.
“We’ve worked harder for this than anything before and trust me, we’re only just getting started.
“Our commitment is to give the best possible platform for European talent and our new partnership with CDCUpate is a huge step on that journey for us.”
