Dr Disrespect will host a Fortnite tournament worth $100,000 starting on May 27.

The competition will take place on the Zero Build mode that was added at the start of Chapter 3, Season 3.

Dr Disrespect’s tournament is called “The Hot Shot Duo Drop”. It features a 2v2 elimination-race format.

Duos will drop into Quads lobbies and race against another team to score the most eliminations in a map.

The popularity of the mode saw a lot of players return to the game after long absences.

It promises to be a fantastic event, with some of the biggest and best Fortnite players set to take part.

Twitch questions

The biggest question surrounding the tournament is whether or not Twitch streamers will be allowed to compete.

Dr Disrespect and Twitch have had legal issues over the last few years, ever since the streamer left the platform for YouTube gaming.

Twitch banned Disrespect from their service in 2020, for seemingly unknown reasons.

Twitch also banned Chess streamer Hikaru Nakamura in March 2022. He was streaming a Chess match featuring the Doc.

After the ban, Nakamura tweeted: “The Doc tweeted that things are settled with Twitch. Guess he was wrong.”

So the question remains, will Twitch streamers be able to compete in Disrespect’s $100,000 Fortnite tournament?

The answer right now is simply, we don’t know.

It’s very unclear as to the rules and regulations surrounding using anything relating to the Doc on Twitch.

Disrespect’s name is not part of the title of the event, possibly a workaround for Twitch streamers to be able to participate.

They won’t have to mention or refer to Doc on their streams in order to have the action live.

More information will be available in the lead up to the event, with the start still scheduled for May 27.
