Peirce “Gunless” Hillman has returned to the LAG starting roster after recovering from illness.
He has been on the bench since the week leading up to the Minnesota Major at the start of April.
Gunless underwent surgery in order to recover from erosive duodenitis. He had previously been on medication for the condition but sensitivity to the meds meant that it wasn’t feasible in the long run.
Now that he has recovered, he moves straight back into the starting roster.
LAG announced the move on Twitter, saying that everyone on the roster plays a “pivotal role.”
They said: “With Gunless fully recovered, we will be moving him back into the starting lineup going forward.
“Spart will move to the bench and remain as a substitute for our organisation.
“Every member of our roster has played a pivotal role in our accomplishments this season, we are extremely grateful.”
Spart back to the bench
Kris “Spart” Cervantez had moved into the starting role in place of Peirce whilst he was away.
Spart’s use of the Volk weapon at the Stage 2 Major saw him become an instant cult hero with the Los Angeles Guerrillas fanbase.
The team went on to win the Major. A feat that next to nobody predicted would happen.
They pulled off one of the greatest lower bracket runs that Call of Duty has seen in recent years.
Spart was a huge part of this run, helping the team throughout the tournament.
It looked like it was going to be a coming-of-age moment for Cervantez but since the Volk was added to the Gentlemen’s Agreement for Vanguard, things haven’t quite been the same.
The Major 2 Champs were beaten in every series they played at the Pro-Am.
They even got reverse swept by Toronto Ultra Academy NA.
The team simply couldn’t win at the Pro-Am. But that didn’t seem to matter seeing as the Major 3 qualifiers were right around the corner.
The team then started their Major 3 campaign 0-2, losing to OpTic Texas and the Minnesota Rokkr.
In fact, the team didn’t win a single map in their first weekend of Major 3 qualifiers.
The poor record definitely prompted the change. Gunless steps into the team for next week’s matchups and beyond.
Gunless will start in the roster for games against Paris Legion and Florida Mutineers this weekend.
