Josh “m1cks” Micks is returning to Cloud9 to become their assistant Valorant coach. He will work alongside head coach James “JamezIRL” Macauley.

m1cks comes into the role with plenty of tactical shooter experience but this will be his first role in Valorant.

He had previously worked in CS:GO at Cloud9. He was also part of eUnited, Nordavind and Rogue at different points of his career.

Valorant is now his game of choice because of the mental strain that gets put on players and coaches in the NA region when it comes to CS:GO.

Cloud9 announced the arrival of m1cks as an assistant coach on Twitter, asking followers to welcome him back to the team.

Fans are undoubtedly pleased by the move, with many sharing their thoughts in reply to their announcement.

One used the title crawl from Lord of the Rings to express their happiness at the move.

Others used more simple ways of showing their appreciation.

m1cks was released from Cloud9 just over a year ago, and now triumphantly returns to help aid their Valorant roster.

Just after leaving the team the first time round, he told hltv that they were “playing not to lose” rather than playing to win.

You’d be safe in betting your money on the fact that it won’t be the same with the Valorant roster.

Cloud9 finished third in Stage 1 Challengers in North America. Their next match is on Sunday (May 29). The face a FaZe team that is finding its way once more with a new roster.

The team go into this weekend’s matchup with a [1-1] record. Four of the six teams in their group will proceed to the final stage of the Challengers tournament.
