NaVi have become the second team qualified for the Champions Stage of the PGL Major in Antwerp.
Midway through the match it looked as though the team would be sailing through in comfortable fashion.
NIP managed to make it difficult for the Ukrainian team, forcing the match all the way to the third map.
NaVi really turned the screw in the final map on Ancient though. s1mple and co. ran out to an unassailable lead early on.
They took the final map of the series 16-4 in order to book their place in the Champions bracket.
The bracket portion of the event will start on Thursday (May 19). NaVi join Team Spirit as the first two teams qualified for the bracket.
Bad News Eagles have now been eliminated from the competition. They join Team Liquid as the teams to have been knocked out today (May 15).
They were swept by Imperial. The result may have been convincing but the individual maps certainly could have gone either way.
Winning just one of the first eight rounds on Mirage, things looked bleak for the Kosovan team.
A huge comeback ensued after the switch. 10-5 at the start of the second half. After 12 rounds of play in the second half, Eagles brought the score all the way to 14-13.
The comeback was truly on when Rigon “rigoN” Gashi found himself hitting an ace but the team was relying on those heroic plays to keep them in it.
Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci could only manage eight kills in the map, really selling his side short in the slaying department.
They couldn’t quite see it out though and they exit the tournament at the Legends stage.
Matches for Round 4 of the Legends Stage of the Antwerp Major are set.
Six matches are slated for Monday, with three more teams progressing through to the bracket and three more being sent home.
