Every Call of Duty: Vanguard Ranked Play player will have their skill rating reset at the start of Season 3.
The new season will have every player play five evaluation matches to place them in the ranking system.
Treyarch lead game designer Lawrence Metten confirms that he expects players to be placed lower than where they finish in Season 2.
Metten said: “Your previous ranked play performance is a factor.
“Players will likely get initially placed below where they finished in Season 2.”
There will be new rewards that come to the game with the Season 3 update. Camos and charms will be among the new rewards for grinding the game.
Rewards will include blueprints for meta builds of the MP-40 and the Automaton.
Metten also confirmed that the overlapping rewards will retain their progress going forward.
He said: “Division Charm Rewards and the Ranked Legend Skin aren’t tied to Seasons.
“Any partial progress towards these will carry over between Season 2 and 3.”
Ranked Play moves out of beta at the start of Season 3.
The new Top 250 leaderboard won’t go live until a week into the season.
Treyarch say this is to “give our most dedicated players a chance to meet the 3,500 SR requirement”.
The decision to reset everyone’s SR comes less than two months after Metten claimed they “would rather not” reset SR.
We’re discussing options here but would rather not wipe everyone’s SR before the Season 3 reset. We do know who’ve been disconnecting and are evaluating significant SR adjustments to penalize these players.

It would now be fair to assume that SR will be reset at the start of every season.
Vanguard Ranked Play has brought life to a fairly mediocre, at best, Call of Duty title.
Treyarch remain fragmented, working on many different things at once but they seem to be doing a fine job on the Ranked playlist.
