Team Spirit will move onto face FaZe in the semi finals of PGL Antwerp after beating FURIA in the quarter-finals.

Strength on the CT side was what won the series for Spirit as they managed to turn the screw on both Vertigo and Ancient with their CT prowess.

Both maps were incredibly tight through the first half with just a round separating the teams on both occasions.

FURIA led heading into the break on Vertigo but Spirit quickly ran away with the map.

Pavel “s1ren” Ogloblin was the star in map one.

His 28 kills out-fragged everyone else in the lobby, providing the necessary weight in order for his team to succeed. His ADR on the map was 108.7 too, over 30 more than the next highest.

s1ren didn’t quite carry the same level of success into Ancient, but his team around him more than made up for it.

Abdul “degster” Gasanov stepped up to the mark. It was seemingly impossible for FURIA to kill him on the deciding map.

The Brazilians struggled for any kind of momentum in the second half on Ancient. They could only win a single round after the swap.

Spirit were just in control throughout. They didn’t rely on big plays or clutch situations. They played fundamentals incredibly well and have the result to show for it.

They will now go on to face FaZe in the semi finals of the major.

FURIA go back to Brazil with $35,000 for reaching the last eight.
