Toronto Defiant co-founder Adam Adamou says that he has not received transfer requests from Young-hun “MuZe” Kim and Jung-woo “Finale” Lim.
Adamou did acknowledge “internal issues” as he took to Twitter to refute reports from Dexerto.
Dexerto’s original article, written by Arran Spake, said: “Multiple sources have told Dexerto that a number of incidents behind the scenes have caused instability in the Defiant camp.
According to the piece, MuZe requested his trade after an argument between himself and coach Ding-Gun “KDG” Kim.
Adamou claims that neither player has yet submitted a trade request. He also says that he will now investigate the matter.
He said on Twitter: “There have been internal issues but I haven’t received trade requests.
“In any case, that’s not how we operate.
“I just came back from a trip and I’ll need to dig deeper into the details.
“Based on what I do know, this is an unfortunate situation that bears further investigation.”
Diving into a team investigation could have huge ramifications. Players will often regularly exaggerate their comments when things aren’t going their way.
New York Subliners’ Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez once claimed that he was going to fly home to France and not come back… in the middle of a scrim.
The Toronto Defiant team have had a middling start to the 2022 Overwatch season. They are currently sat at a 3-2 record in qualifiers for the Kickoff Clash.
They play New York Excelsior this weekend (May 27) as they look to book their place in the main tournament.
That tournament runs alongside Call of Duty’s Major 3 event but at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas from June 2-5.
